A brilliant pattern and a venture into wool…

5 09 2010

I’ve made a skirt!  Actually, I’ve made two recently – one from the fabric mentioned in a previous post and one from some fabric I bought last weekend:

The pattern was great – made entirely from measurements taken from your very own body.  The original pattern was featured in Sew Hip and I adapted it so it has a flat (ie non elasticated) front which suits me better.  Thanks Sew Hip!

I’ve also bought this book:

which is proving much better at teaching crochet than the internet was!  It’s also really well written – a nice and friendly tone :)

Oooh yay for that skirt! Love the fabric, I’m feeling an autumnal vibe!

I’ve seen this book mentioned a couple of times and might have to get it, I can granny like a mad woman but as for anything else I’m totally hopeless and just cannot understand what they want me to do. Does it have step by step pictures? I think that’s what I really need.

You’re on a roll now with the dressmaking! Great skirt – very versatile and looks like it will be needed quite soon with the weather change.
